At ACTKO, “faith, focus, and follow-through” are the three words that each student lives by. Our philosophy is centered around believing in yourself, focusing on goals, following through with commitments, and discipline.

Owner Tony Butler Has 55 Years of Experience
For more than five decades, Shihan Tony Butler has dedicated his life to teaching children and families through the art of traditional Japanese karate. His philosophy extends beyond martial arts. He has built an organization centered on:
- Integrity
- Discipline
- Self-worth
- Team spirit
- Family
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Education
- Confidence
- Love
His goal has always been to help students become stronger—not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Who We Are
“Faith, focus, and follow-through” – the power of these words has created one of the largest youth programs in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Our students learn integrity, discipline, self-worth, the importance of family, and the value of love. Every student is taught with equal respect and love, and no child is turned away because of money. At ACTKO Albany, we help children become the best version of themselves.
